I've been working on a wedding that I did a couple of weeks ago. I'm trying to finish the editing quickly so that the couple can pick up their pictures when they're back in town, so you're only going to get to see one picture today. More to come later.

Just Because: Chris and Erin

So I've been sitting on this one for a while (not quite two weeks) and though I've only chosen 4 of my favorites so far, I figured I'd better hurry up and post them because they've both been asking where they are.

Chris and Erin are two of my favorite people and I never tire of spending time with them. They're such beautiful people - easy to be with, easy to photograph - and they complement each other so well. They made my job really easy.

Erin has always been an expressive person, using her arms and hands and every part of her face as well as words to tell you how she's feeling and I love that about her. Chris tends to keep things to himself a little more. But the other night I saw it on his face: his love for Erin - full and strong and sure. I loved it. I hope you'll both always recognize that look from the other.

weekend off

So finally! Here it is: the post about my weekend away. Not that it was anything amazing and spectacular. Although, I did make my teenage sister get up at dawn to catch the sunrise - both mornings. That's pretty amazing.
I went to bed early, relaxed by the water with a book, ate cinnamon buns for a sunrise breakfast and got to spend as much time as I wanted taking pictures.
So although it wasn't spectacular, it was wonderful - and perfectly suited to me.

Favorite of the month: May

Strange how I've got this monthly post about favorites when I profess to not have favorites.... I still don't for most things, but photography is one area where I can pick out some favorites - though, not usually just one. More often than not you're seeing ONE of my favorites. As is the case here. This was taken on my roadtrip weekend at the old Pinawa dam. I liked the way the water was like glass - smooth, reflective, quiet - and then, suddenly it's tumbling and noisy and splashing. Life is like that sometimes. I think that's why I like this picture.
