Roadtrip!

So I went on a little excursion last weekend. I took my sister and my camera and a book and drove out to Pinawa for a little r&r and some picture-taking fun.

I haven't had the time to go through all the pictures just yet, but here's one of my favorites:

And just in case you're wondering - no, I didn't have to listen to Veggie Rock and Jack Johnson's Curious George - this time it was Snowpatrol and The Afters and John Mayer. (not that I mind the former at all!)

It's coming!!

That's right, my website is almost done! I'm so excited to have it almost up and running again - it's been a long time. In fact, I think I'll celebrate with some promos. Be sure to check back soon so you'll know when it's up and running and can take advantage of the fabulousness that will be known as "it's back so you get a prize"! (Kinda lame, but to the point.)

In the meantime, I'll leave you with a picture of my honey who turned 29 yesterday.
Happy birthday lovey!

Vacation!

Alright, so that took a little longer than I thought. I love taking the pictures, but editing them - not so much. And trying to pick just a few favorites to post? Yikes.
So anyway.... we were in Bemidji, MN a couple of weekends ago. Why Bemidji you ask? Well, with 4 boys in the family, it's silly to try doing a shopping weekend (it just gets frustrating), so Jonny looked for a place we could all be happy and came up with Bemidji. (It also happened to have a hotel with an awesome kiddie pool, which was the clincher.) We only went for one night so that we could spend mothers day back at home. We managed to cram in as much as possible - a whole lot of pool time for the boys, a brief antique shopping experience for me (disappointingly, but not surprisingly, unsuccessful - I'm a terrible shopper), 3 different playgrounds (again, for the boys), a museum (which would have been better sans enfants) and 2 state parks for Jonny. We would've liked to do some hiking while we were in the parks, but with 3 small boys in tow, that didn't seem too practical.
It was a fun time - the weather didn't really cooperate, but we're Manitobans and we're used to that.

Apparently Paul Bunyan lived here - or something. I didn't get a chance to read any of the info.

I told you it had a great kiddie pool...

This was at one of the many fabulous playgrounds - each one more fun than the next. I could live there just for the waterfront parks they have....

This was in Lake Itaska state park. It's the headwaters of the Mississippi River - something that impressed Jonny far more than the rest of us.

Preview...

So we went on a little vacation last weekend. (Does one night qualify as a vacation?) A four hour drive listening to Veggie Rock and the Curious George soundtrack the whole way - there and back - not to mention the endless "are we there yet?" But it was fabulous!
Here's a little preview while I continue editing the rest of the 300+ pictures I took.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy mothers day to my mom - my role model and friend.
Here's a few pictures we took today with her. I can't remember what was so funny now, but mom takes it all in stride - she's used to us.

Oh, I should mention that the man behind the camera is my brother-in-law. He credits his awesome picture taking skills to his grade 12 photography class.

what could have been....

This post purposely has no picture. I went out the other day with the boys to do a quick little picture hunt before doing the grocery shopping. The lighting was no good and I wasn't feeling very inspired. I took a few shots, but - enh - they're alright. Last night though, I drove down the same stretch of road and the lighting was beautiful, the water was like glass, reflecting the beautiful blue sky - even the clouds were inspiring. I wanted to stop in at least 6 different places to take a picture, but alas! no camera. So disappointing!
So this post is picture-less in honour of the ones that got away....
