Favorite of the month

So I've decided this will be a regular post - my favorite picture of the month. It will always be something I've taken, but doesn't have to be work related. (In this case, you're lucky it's not work related or you'd be seeing my favorite picture from the church directory I'm working on. Not very exciting, but, strangely, I do have my favorites.)

Here we have my three boys and their two friends. They were all looking at the big pool of water that is our backyard. It was so picture perfect - who could resist?!

Just Because: Klassen Family

The Klassens were looking for some family pictures, something fun and relaxed. Of course, I was happy to oblige - fun and relaxed is just the way I like them! So, before Christmas, we all headed out to a tree farm to document their tree picking. (It just so happens that we're good friends with the Klassens, so Jonny and the boys came along, too.) The weather was quite nice and so we went on the sleigh ride, played in the hay fort, checked out the animals and finally, they picked out a tree. It was a lot of fun! Maybe we'll make it a yearly event. ;)

Justin & Mirjana

Justin and Mirjana and I have two connections - they heard about me through a couple whose wedding I did a few summers ago, but it also turns out that Mirjana and I are distantly related. So distant, we didn't know. :)
Their wedding day was a hot, sunny one. I came home sunburned. But it was a lot of fun. Justin and Mirjana are my favorite type of couple. They had a few ideas about what they wanted and left the rest up to me. The best part about them though was that they were totally relaxed and real with me and I loved that!

Heather & Bryan

I shot these engagement pictures a couple of months ago and I'll be shooting their wedding in June. I'm really looking forward to it. Heather smiles so easily and so beautifully and was kept giggling almost the entire time by Bryan - it's going to be a fun day.

Welcome!

So, I'm blogging for a few reasons, the main one (or rather, the reason I'm doing this now) being that my website is currently under construction and I need somewhere to show my work. I actually tried starting this a l-o-ong time ago, so the website changes were just the motivation I needed.
I like the idea of letting my clients get to know me better, which is the reason I started on this so long ago. I always enjoy the experience of taking pictures for a friend, so I figure if you can view me the same way, it ought to be that much better, right?
And my secret (or not), just-for-me reason for blogging is that I'm hoping it will force me to take more pictures. Because really, this is about the pictures.
